Cute Mermaid Under The Sea Bathroom Design

We are all girls in our household so when it came to designing the girl’s bathroom it was either going to be a mermaid theme or girly princess theme. The girls couldn’t decide so I went to the internet looking for some ideas as I always do, and came across this octopus toilet paper holder:
I instantly fell in L.O.V.E, love! How fun, right?!? My daughters love it too so Mermaid Under The Sea theme it is!
I put together this Cute Mermaid Under The Sea mood board for inspiration as I am in the process of actually decorating the girls bathroom. I will post a follow-up post once the room is complete. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter so you do not miss the final results. (If you join my mailing list I’ll send you my room design planner printable for free. I created it to keep all my projects organized and save them in a home binder. If I ever need to repaint, I’ll always know what color I used because it will be noted on the room planner.)
Most of the items I found on this mood board are from Amazon or Etsy. With three kiddos under the age of 6, I am a huge Amazon Prime shopper because, well, let’s be honest, taking three kids into a store so mama can shop is straight up torture; for me, for my kids and for those all around us. (But who doesn’t love Amazon anyway?!) Etsy, for those who have yet to discover this wonderful site, is a website where artist of all kind sell their work. If you are looking for something different, one-of-a-kind, or original then Etsy is the place to go.
*Update: The original octopus toilet paper holder is no longer available so I did a quick search on Amazon and found this one instead: Octopus Toilet Paper Holder .
Surprisingly, there are a lot of vendors on Etsy and Amazon selling this octopus so you can definitely price shop and they offer different colors too.
The wall color is by Sherwin Williams called Knitting Needles SW 7672.
I loved the texture of this bath mat because looking at it reminded me of coral in the ocean.
The turquoise shower curtain looks like sea weed and the mermaid hooks help to break up the turquoise color. Like the octopus, there is a wide variety of vendors selling these hook who also offer different colors and finishes.
I found the mermaid word art which couldn’t be more fitting for my red-headed beauty, the 6-year-old. She refuses to let me blow her hair dry after a bath and many times goes to bed with wet hair. When she wakes up in the morning, she has mermaid hair and is perfectly content with it that way.Lastly, a little swag for the counter.
Then there is the turquoise vanity.
How fun would it be to have this in the bathroom. I love it! It’s girly, a little rustic and perfect for a mermaid under the sea bathroom! For those who love a good DIY project, how about replicating this vanity out of an old dresser or buffet table. You could definitely do it for much less than the $1200 price tag attached to it. It is so easy to refurbish furniture. I have done it a handful of times with a few really great pieces I picked up at garage sales and they all turned out nice.
This is my first post for my new blog and I hope you enjoyed it. I’d really appreciate your feedback. Please leave a comment or feel free to share this post. Pin it to save it for later.
